Well Hello Cornwall!

I am finally here, in this remote corner of the United Kingdom. The butterflies shot out the second I glimpsed the sign Penryn (thatta way) and got even worse fluttering furiously away when I saw the next sign entitled, Tremough Campus. Oh it's all real now. After months, weeks, days, hours, it's seconds away, it's now. It's cliche-ishly all a bit surreal, I am sitting here in my flat room typing away. Which is by the way dead to the world-my flatmates are much more social then I but utterly lovely-to be honest though you would all be unsocial if you hadn't slept for 2 days and being the avid sleeper I am I am dying here. Anyway, after trekking 7 hours from my awesome hometown of Brighton I finally arrived only to find out I had to drag my possibly 18 bags of luggage up a flight of stairs, thankfully my brother helped. Man do I not travel light! I have more kitchen stuff then needed and way to much food. Within 2 hours, a takeaway indian, some shifting about, pin stabbing and bluetacking moments to adore I was flicking away with my Kodak to capture the first-and last time-my room was cleaned, and here are these moments for you to enjoy. (Yes I know it's not clinically clean at least it's neat-ish) Also sorry for the awful photography just that that my finger isn't visible in any photo....

>My door, I had extra photos/certificates/postcards to put up so I decided I would build on this collage throughout the year ;)

> My view from my door, big table, photo collage on bookcase, printer, personal kettle, laptop and matching chair and curtains snazzy

> My ironing board, double bed with lovely overhead light, and my prized pineapple (who needs a pot plant when you can add a tropical feel and eat it after ((which is what we did))

>My noticeboard minus any notices, you might have noticed that neither of my posters go together, well thats just me I am an eclectic mix, another montage of photos, my free cat calendar (I hate cats) and my best friends handmade birthday card

>A view of my desk, I even have a phone and lots of mugs so special.

>My ensuite soo shiny

> My ensuite, I have an excellent shower and snazzy towels

> I have a safe which I don't know how to open but ah well I don't have valuables I am cheap (see Argos Value box)

 > My wardrobe, select clothes which all really need ironing...we'll see.

Well this is mi casa for the next 3 months then I fly back home for Xmas...scary scary thoughts.... this is where the journey begins.

And so the shopping ceases

2 sleeps to go till I head down to the South West of England to my new home for the next 2 years...being a Law student I will be spending my final year at Exeter's main campus but I am hoping to spend a year abroad in either Australia, America or Italy (hopefully) While the butterflies begin to unfurl from the cocoons they were safely wrapped up in I thought I'd take a moment to show a glimpse of the food I am trekking down with...

I have everything from yeast and flour for those cheeky home-made pizza nights, to linguine, fusilli, macaroni, noodles, chickpeas and yes I have seasalt! This is only a smidgen of the stuff I am taking that is edible (oh yeah I also have balsamic vinegar and paprika with chilli flakes I am so food cultured :D) I have about  3 bags filled with food! I am ready for any food based emergency all I need to get when I go to Penryn will be my trusty soya milk (I am not a fan of milk, milk) and some fresh herbs and vegetables and soon I will have recipe based posts to publish (fingers crossed) And for all my Campus readers I did not forget my Popcorn kernals for our cinematic rendezvous I can hear the pop, pop, pop of the kernals in the not-so-distant distance...

To have and to hold

Last Sunday

Only 6 more sleeps left till I will be in transit hurtling towards my destination of Falmouth, Cornwall (Well Penryn to be precise) And as tradition states nothing can go smoothly for me when I am looking forward to something. First off I burn myself across my face with my hair curlers, lovely scar on my cheek. Sweet. I end up having to sport this wonderful darkening everyday scar for 2 weeks, and then when it finally clears I cut the top of my mouth. Great! Now I cannot eat or drink anything apart from lukewarm water without screaming in pain, I am a complete and utter wimp. This whole females have a stronger pain threshold thing, not true for me must have been missing in my genetic make-up. The worst thing about my swollen mouth is that I can't eat biscuits and I love biscuits, I could eat biscuits all day preferably with a nice mug of hot Tetleys, that in my view is bliss...So then I wander aimlessly around my house thinking what next, burnt face, sore mouth, biscuit deficiancy what can I possibly do to add to my list of maladies. I decide to step right on a shockingly rusty drawing pin. Cue a lot of screaming, internally. If there is one thing I don't do folks, that is scream out loud. I will laugh and laugh I do a lot, but I don't scream and I rarely, rarely cry in the public eye (nice rhyme there) I must have twice in my whole life but I was pretty young then. I pulled the drawing pin out of the bottom of my heel, no blood. So I thought maybe I got away with it, no repercussions. Yeah right. Within a few moments my heel took revenge by swelling up and making it impossible for me to stand normally without wanting to burst in to tears and fall over. If these injuries do not clear up I am going to be one unsociable undergraduate at Freshers, unable to talk or eat, unable to stand or walk. I will be stuck in my room staring wistfully at a box of chocolate digestives waiting and waiting for my much delayed mail...

(N.B) Don't worry if my heel doesn't sort itself out by Monday I will see my GP it's the weekend and I can't be bothered to sit in A/E for something relatively minor when I still have time to get medical attention.

I shall leave you all with one of my most favourite songs ever, it is called Jadu Jadu Jadu (Translates as Magic, Magic, Magic) from the film Yaraana. Honestly even if you don't understand hindi/urdu I would recommend a listen it is a great song acted by two brilliant actors.
